February 4th 2007 - My Christening

What a busy day this was! My christening was in the morning at St Mary's Church Long Ditton. When we arrived there were lots of friends that Mummy and Daddy had invited to come and see me in my pretty dress and shoes.
The service was fun as there was lots of singing and stories. When it was time for my baptism we walked up to the back of the church. I was eating my shoe at the time so I carried it up with me carefully. We stood around the font, which was like a small pool. As Mummy hadn't taken me swimming this week, when it was my turn I made sure I got a good feel of the water and dipped my had right in, and then tried to get hold of the reverends notes and cloth too! (I was still holding my special shoe in my other hand!!). It was all over very quickly, and Tania was given my candle to look after.
After the service finnished I did the rounds, socialising with everyone and making sure everyone saw me in my pretty dress (shoes temporarily abandoned by this point!)

After the service we all went to the Mitre hotel at Hampton Court for a party. As I had missed my morning nap at 10.30am Mummy and Daddy put me down to sleep as soon as we arrived - were they mad - there was a party to go to?!? I slept for a little while, but then wanted to see what was going on, after all it was my party!
We had some food and drinks and I got lots of cuddles and to play with lots of nice people. I even got some presents too which were all lovely. I had such fun I can't understand why we don't do this every week!

Congratulations on your special day!!! Is that a picture of you next to the For Sale sign behind you at the font?? Surely Mummy & Daddy kept the receipt for you!
All the best, with our love - Paul, Clare, Molly & Aloise x
